Who are Kickass Artists?
Kickass Artists Group is the very first collaborative networking group in CNY specifically designed for visual artists and models. Launched late in 2019 the group focuses on inspiring creative photographers and models to come together once a month and create stunning works of art. With a collaborative social network of over 150K connections we strive to use our influence for creative inspiration.

What’s the workshop about?
Kickass Artists group is built on the foundation of creativity and inspiration. We strive to use advanced lighting techniques and create conceptual gallery ready art. Each month we choose 2 of the world’s best photographers as inspiration and try to emulate both their lighting styles in one evening. Taking on the lighting styles of world’s best artists takes quite a bit of planning, experimentation and “Hollywood” set construction to bring the creative vision to life.
Where’s the workshop?
We have had a few events so far and we host them in a 5000 Sq foot state of art studio at 920 North Salina Street here in Syracuse. We started off our first workshop event with 4 sets going all at once but due to the exponential growth we have settled into doing 2 Hollywood sets simultaneously.
Why do a workshop?
The Kickass Artist workshop is distinctly different from other average photo shoots by design. We specifically made the workshop a hands on collaboration where photographers are welcome to bring their cameras and unique creativity. After the signature team spends hours pre-lighting the custom designed sets, we open the doors and let the creativity, networking and learning begin. We begin with the artistry of the world’s best photographers and try to bring it to the next level with kickass lighting.

How often do you do the collaborations ?
We try do our collaborations once a month, usually a day during the last week of the month. An official invitation with details is usually pinned to the top of our Kickass Artists page on Facebook.
What if I don't have much experience?
Are the photographers "professional"?
Do the models get copies of the images for the web?
If I prepay and then don't show is it refundable?
Do photographers have to credit Kickass Artists group for photos?
The simple answer is yes we have a group logo and since most of the heavy lifting with set design, models and lighting is already done we require group credit for the artistry. Collaborative images are not to be used for competition or awards. As we are trying to grow the Facebook group please tag Kickass Artists Group on FB.
